Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital is facing a shortage of essential cancer drugs, including carboplatin and cisplatin, due to global supply issues, impacting chemotherapy treatments for around 200 daily patients. The hospital has requested urgent support from the Ministry of Health, the Department of Drug Administration, and the World Health Organization, with some consignments expected from Bangladesh soon. Doctors have warned of health risks associated with unregistered or improperly stored medicines.
