Nepali Drug Manufacturers Demand Protection Against Imports

Nepali drug manufacturers are facing pressure from imports and have urged the government to curb competition, stating that domestic industries are under threat. They propose importing only raw materials for medicines that Nepal can produce domestically. Approximately 100 drug industries exist in Nepal, with 10 already closed and 50 on the verge of closure, operating at only 30-40 percent capacity.
