Nutrition allowance to Dalit children doubled

The government has doubled the nutrition allowance for school-going Dalit children to Rs. one thousand per month. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle announced this while presenting the annual budget for fiscal year 2026/027 at a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly.
