The Government of Nepal has announced a new policy to incentivize the use of electric buses in Kathmandu and Pokhara, revealed by Finance Minister Swarnim Waglé during the presentation of the national budget for fiscal year 2083/84. The "Smart Urban Mobility" program for Kathmandu Valley includes charging stations and tracking systems, while a dedicated "E-mobility" service will be established in Pokhara to replace fuel-powered buses with electric alternatives.
