A group of youth in Chitwan staged a protest demanding the abolition of taxes on petroleum products, organized by the “Gari Khana Deu” campaign and led by activist Miraj Dhungana. Participants dragged their motorcycles and scooters on foot to protest continuous price hikes by the Nepal Oil Corporation. The protestors demanded the government abolish or reduce the six different types of taxes imposed on petroleum products.
