Farmers in Pokhara are cultivating watermelons on barren land along the Vijaypur River, expecting high yields. Sundar Baral is selling 200 kg daily from his 25 ropanis farm, targeting a Rs 1.5 million turnover. Bharat Bahadur Parajuli is also cultivating watermelons and other crops, confident of earning over Rs 300,000. The Pokhara Metropolitan City Agriculture Division provides subsidies for seeds and materials, though crops have faced damage from hailstorms and rain, and issues with monkeys and theft.
