UN Secretary-General Welcomes Extension of Lebanon-Israel Ceasefire

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has welcomed the 45-day extension of the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, expressing confidence in its role in maintaining border peace and reducing citizen suffering. He urged full respect for the ceasefire, adherence to international law, and restraint and dialogue to ensure regional stability. The UN will continue supporting diplomatic efforts to fully implement Security Council Resolution 1701.
