Thousands displaced by slum clearances in the Kathmandu Valley have been housed in a holding center in Banepa, managed by the Nepal Red Cross. The 110 individuals currently housed there are demanding education for their children, employment, and permanent housing, citing sudden demolition without adequate notice. The center, primarily a training facility, faces challenges accommodating the displaced population.
