Nepal is facing a mounting heatwave crisis, with record-breaking temperatures disrupting daily life, particularly in the Terai region. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued multiple bulletins warning of high temperatures, exacerbated by climate change and the El Niño system. The extreme heat poses significant risks to public health, agriculture, livestock, and infrastructure, disproportionately affecting vulnerable groups like women, children, and outdoor workers.
