Heatwave Alert Issued for Western Nepal as Temperatures Near 40°C
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has issued a heatwave alert for six districts in western Nepal, including Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Doti, Kailali, and Kanchanpur, as temperatures are expected to exceed 40 degrees Celsius. Authorities warned of potential heat-related illnesses and advised the public to take precautions. Meanwhile, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology noted rising temperatures due to various weather factors, with chances of rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in some provinces, though hotter days are expected to continue in the Terai regions.
