US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah B. Rogers is scheduled for a three-day visit to Nepal, potentially marking the highest-ranking American diplomat visit since the new government's formation under Prime Minister Balen Shah. Despite an increase in foreign diplomat arrivals, PM Shah has not yet held one-on-one meetings with foreign envoys. Rogers is expected to hold talks with Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal. Meanwhile, a Chinese delegation led by Zhao Peng, Vice Chairman of Xizang Autonomous Regional Government, also arrived in Kathmandu, with a meeting with PM Shah also considered unlikely. The Prime Minister's Office stated that PM Shah is scheduled for a collective meeting with EU ambassadors.
