Italy's Supreme Court has ruled that a five-star hotel is not legally obligated to serve tap water to customers. The ruling came in a case where a tourist sued Hotel Sassongher for refusing tap water, but the court determined that providing tap water is not a mandatory service under Italian law, falling instead within the discretion of the business.
