NHRC makes its report on Genz movement public, recommends enforcement

The National Human Rights Commission has submitted its investigation report on human rights violations during the Genz movement on September 8-9, 2025, to the Government of Nepal, recommending legal action against violators. The report suggests enacting laws to hold former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and former Information and Communications Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung accountable. It also recommends further investigation into individuals involved, including Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane, who was released from prison at the time, as well as senior security officials and social media influencers.
