The climbing route to Mount Everest has been officially opened for the spring expedition season after ropes were fixed from Base Camp to the summit. The Department of Tourism announced the route's completion on May 13, thanking the guides and icefall doctors involved. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation had assigned the Everest Pollution Control Committee and the Expedition Operators Association the responsibility for managing and fixing the routes. With the route now open, climbers are expected to begin their summit attempts.
