A one-month Purushottam Maas or Adhik Maas Mela has begun at Machhenarayan Temple in Kathmandu, attracting millions of devotees. Worshipping Lord Narayan during this period is believed to destroy sins and attain merit. The temple features a gold-plated Garuda entrance and a one-foot-tall idol of Lord Matsyanarayan, considered the first avatar of Lord Vishnu.
