The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced a record Rs 3.59 crore player contract system for 2026, the highest-ever payroll for any sports association in Nepal. A total of 63 players, including 38 men and 25 women, will receive monthly retainers ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 120,000, with additional match fees and potential earnings from the Nepal Premier League. This initiative aims to allow players to focus on performance and national duty, furthering the professionalization of Nepali cricket.
