Iran and the US are reportedly close to extending a ceasefire by 60 days, which could lead to the gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and a commitment to dilute Iran's highly enriched uranium stockpile. In return, the US may ease its blockade of Iranian ports, provide sanctions relief, and unfreeze assets. Iran and Pakistan have submitted a revised proposal to the US, with a response expected by Sunday. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated that progress has been made and there may be an announcement soon.
