Discussions are underway to change the leadership of the Lumbini Province government, currently led by CPN-UML, with preparations being made for the Nepali Congress to take over as per a power-sharing agreement. While CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has instructed the provincial government to proceed with budget-making, the leadership handover is expected to occur soon, with Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary likely to become the Chief Minister. The inclusion of CPN (Maoist) in the provincial government is also being discussed at the central level.
