The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve has attracted 11,603 visitors in the current fiscal year 2081/82 BS (2026/27 AD), with 11,214 being domestic visitors. The reserve, famous for its wild water buffaloes and covering 348 sq km, is Nepal’s only Ramsar-listed wildlife reserve since 1987. It serves as a habitat for endangered species like wild water buffaloes, gharial and mugger crocodiles, dolphins, and various fish, and is considered an important biological corridor connected to eastern India.
