Hearing committee endorses Dr Sharma for Chief Justice

The Parliamentary Hearing Committee of the federal parliament has unanimously approved the recommendation of Dr. Manoj Sharma for the post of Chief Justice. The committee's chairperson, Bodh Narayan Shrestha, confirmed the endorsement following a meeting. Dr. Sharma, who is fourth in seniority among Supreme Court justices, was recommended by the Constitutional Council on May 7, from a list of six names proposed by the Judicial Council. His nomination will now be forwarded to the President for appointment.
