A total of 338 local levels in Nepal have completed their land use plans by mid-April, with 169 also updating maps and collecting data. The Ministry of Land, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs, and General Administration emphasized the authority of local levels in land classification under the Land Use Act. Timely classification of agricultural and non-agricultural land is expected to protect arable land, improve production, enhance food security, and support infrastructure development and resource conservation.
