Nearly 1,200 climbers to attempt peaks this spring

Nearly 1,200 climbers from 79 countries have obtained permits for Himalayan peaks in Nepal this spring season, generating over Rs. 1.25 billion in royalty revenue. Mount Everest alone attracted 494 climbers and contributed nearly 86% of the total income. The data shows a rise in female participation, with 283 women among the 1,181 climbers.
