The Nepali government is finalizing the budget for fiscal year 2083/84, set to be presented by Jestha 15, with a strong emphasis on fostering a private sector-friendly investment environment and implementing economic reforms. Key policy priorities include reducing acquisition and tax-related hurdles, enhancing the one-door service system, and increasing investment in industrial infrastructure to lower costs. The Finance Minister has described the upcoming budget as the commencement of a new, transformative phase of economic reform.

Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Anjan Shrestha has urged the government to prioritize a production-led economic model and tax stability in the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 budget. Shrestha emphasized that the budget is a critical roadmap for Nepal's development, especially as the nation prepares for LDC graduation and faces declining private sector confidence and productivity.

The Gandaki Province government plans to collaborate with the private sector to attract investment and boost economic development. Private sector representatives have expressed concerns that an investment-friendly environment has not yet been created due to issues like difficult business policies, excessive delays, and high tax rates.

Surkrishna Vaidya has been elected as the Senior Vice President and Manish Lal Pradhan as the Treasurer of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI). The elections concluded on Friday at the FNCCI Central Office in Teku, Kathmandu, finalizing key leadership positions within the organization.

Minister for Infrastructure Development Sunil Lamsal stated the government is prepared to resolve problems within the construction sector, including financial pressures, price hikes, and payment delays, through legal and policy reforms. Meanwhile, Sur Krishna Vaidya was elected Senior Vice Chair of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), with Manishlal Pradhan elected Treasurer.

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has elected Surakshya Vaidya as its new Senior Vice President and Manishlal Pradhan as Treasurer. Vaidya secured 56 votes against his rival Ramchandra Sangai's 30, while Pradhan won the Treasurer position with 61 votes over Poudel's 25. The newly elected leadership is expected to focus on strengthening business advocacy and addressing economic challenges.
