The Infrastructure Development Committee of the House of Representatives has instructed the government to resolve problems faced by construction entrepreneurs, including ensuring timely payments and addressing rising material costs. Committee Chairperson Ashish Gajurel emphasized that delays in construction work hinder national development and called for collaborative efforts to overcome existing challenges. Lawmakers also highlighted the need for increased local investment in raw materials and effective government monitoring of projects.

Construction entrepreneurs, led by Federation of Contractors' Associations of Nepal Chairman Nicholas Pandey, have submitted memorandums to government ministries highlighting a severe crisis in the sector due to soaring material and fuel costs. Pandey claims project chiefs and engineers are issuing threats to confiscate bank guarantees and blacklist contractors, creating an environment of insecurity.
