Nepal and Norway held their second Bilateral Consultation Mechanism meeting in Kathmandu, reaffirming their commitment to strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation. Discussions focused on development, renewable energy, climate resilience, and exploring new avenues in the green economy, including clean energy transition and electric mobility.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Nepali tea exports to India have become smoother after diplomatic efforts led to the Indian Tea Board revising a directive that had previously disrupted shipments. Spokesperson Lok Bahadur Poudel Chhetri stated that coordination between the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi and the ministry was instrumental in convincing India to amend the directive.

The Power Transmission and Distribution Strengthening System Project in Madhesh Province, supported by Norway, has formally concluded, successfully expanding regional power networks and providing reliable grid access. The initiative also supported over 400 local entrepreneurs, many of whom are women, with new livelihood opportunities and introduced clean cooking alternatives.
