Pokhara Metropolis

Pokhara Metropolis has commenced a demolition operation to remove 160 structures, including private and institutional buildings, that were built along the Firkhe Khola river boundary, based on a 2080 survey report. Meanwhile, the Nepal Landless and Unmanaged Settlers Protection Committee announced nationwide protest programs, warning of demonstrations if their 15-point demands, including alternative solutions before bulldozer deployment, are not met.

The Pokhara Valley Municipal Development Committee (PVMDC) has issued a public notice demanding the removal of all illegal constructions, including shops, from the Pokhara Bus Park area within 15 days. The committee stated that if the encroachments are not cleared, they will proceed with demolition and recover costs from responsible parties. Landowners in the bus park area have also been instructed to submit relevant documents to the PVMDC within seven days.
