Photo · nepaltvworld.com

The Pokhara Valley Municipal Development Committee (PVMDC) has issued a public notice demanding the removal of all illegal constructions, including shops, from the Pokhara Bus Park area within 15 days. The committee stated that if the encroachments are not cleared, they will proceed with demolition and recover costs from responsible parties. Landowners in the bus park area have also been instructed to submit relevant documents to the PVMDC within seven days.

  • The PVMDC aims to clear encroachments to facilitate the construction of a modern Pokhara Bus Park on approximately 205 ropanis of land acquired in 2031/32 BS.
  • Encroachments are present in the Seti River area, extending from Pokhara House to Seti Bridge, and from Prithvi Highway to the Airport.
  • The notice follows a previous public notice issued by Pokhara Metropolis-9 on April 17 for the removal of structures near Prithvi Chowk.
  • Currently, only about 60 ropanis of land remain for the public entity due to widespread encroachment.
  • Landless Dalits and squatters are among those occupying the land designated for the bus park.
