A significant rift has emerged within the CPN-UML, with a majority of leaders in the ongoing Central Secretariat meeting demanding the resignation of party Chairman KP Sharma Oli. The leaders cited disappointing electoral performances and organizational stagnation as reasons for the call for leadership change and party restructuring. Oli, however, has firmly rejected these demands, asserting his legitimate election and unwillingness to step down.

CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has presented a proposed list of department heads and organization in-charges, along with a 19-member central office bearer hierarchy. The proposals were discussed in a secretariat meeting and are set to be decided upon in an upcoming session.

The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) has decided to hold a Central Committee meeting between Asar 15 and Asar 20. The party's Secretariat meeting concluded on Sunday, during which a committee was formed under Ram Bahadur Thapa to review and recommend reforms for elections and party restructuring. The UML also plans to mobilize experts to assist provincial governments with budget preparation.

The CPN-UML party has announced a nationwide 'expose campaign' against the current government, alleging arbitrary operations and a deviation from democratic principles. The party's secretariat meeting criticized the government's handling of customs irregularities, the landless problem, chief justice appointments, rising inflation, and violence against the Dalit community. CPN-UML also condemned a forthcoming government ordinance.
