Middle East Conflict Disrupts Fertilizer Supply for Monsoon Paddy Season
The ongoing conflict in West Asia has disrupted the timely delivery of approximately 185,000 tonnes of chemical fertilizer already under contract, raising concerns for Nepal's monsoon paddy planting season. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Environment is implementing alternative measures to manage potential supply shortages and ensure availability for farmers. Current stock is expected to meet demand until mid-July 2026, with daily distribution ranging from 500 to 2,500 tonnes.
