Pokhara Bus Park Land Probe Committee Formed Amid Irregularity Allegations

A three-member committee has been formed by the Pokhara Valley Town Development Committee to investigate alleged irregularities in the distribution of compensation and land transactions for the Pokhara Bus Park. Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya stated the committee was formed following complaints that some individuals received compensation improperly.

  • The committee, chaired by former judge Shankar Raj Baral, will review decisions, land transactions, and compensation records from the past 51 years.
  • The investigation focuses on 187 ropani of land remaining from the original 196 ropani acquired in 1973 for the bus park project.
  • Two additional committees have been formed to identify landless and squatter families among 572 households residing in the bus park area.
  • The probe panel is tasked with submitting its report within 15 working days.
