Mustang Customs Seizes Nearly 600 Cartons of Electronic Cigarettes

The Mustang Customs Office seized 592 cartons of electronic cigarettes (vapes) near the Nepal-China Korala border on Saturday. The consignment was discovered in two containers allegedly being smuggled illegally into Nepal, bypassing customs procedures while officials were observing the Tiji festival. Drivers Santosh Lama and Phontoj Dhorje have been taken into custody for further investigation.

• The seized electronic cigarettes were transported from the Chinese customs point in Korala two days prior and were found in container numbers Na 6 Kha 4743 and Na 5 Kha 7921.
• Each carton contained approximately 220 vape pens, suggesting a total seizure of over 120,000 units.
