Artist Tsering Phonjo Gurung Exhibits Paintings of Upper Mustang Heritage

Artist Tsering Phonjo Gurung has organized a solo art exhibition in Lomanthang Rural Municipality, Upper Mustang, showcasing 47 paintings that depict the region's 15th-century heritage, lifestyle, and culture. The exhibition aims to attract tourists during the Tiji Festival and promote Upper Mustang internationally through art.

The exhibition features paintings of the 15th-century Lomanthang Palace, caves, monasteries, traditional settlements, and indigenous lifestyle.
Gurung, an artist for over two and a half decades, also sells his artworks online and has previously exhibited in Kathmandu and other locations.
Paintings are priced between Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 250,000, and some have been purchased by foreign visitors who praised the vivid capture of Mustang's scenery.
A workshop for local residents interested in painting has also been organized as part of the event.
