Russia claims downing over 1,000 Ukrainian drones in large-scale attack

Russia's Ministry of Defense claims its air defense systems shot down 1,045 Ukrainian drones in the past 24 hours, including 556 overnight, in what it described as one of the largest drone attacks of the war. The ministry also reported destroying guided and cruise missiles. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously vowed more retaliatory strikes following a Russian attack on Kyiv.

• Ukraine has intensified drone attacks on Russian military structures, fuel storage centers, and areas around the capital in response to daily bombardments.
