Nepal has launched a digital platform to enhance citizen participation in the lawmaking process, allowing direct submission of feedback and disagreements on draft legislation. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam stated the initiative aims to increase legal awareness and address insufficient public involvement in creating laws for the people.

  • The platform was unveiled on Law Day and is accessible via the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs website.
  • Citizens can provide amendments or suggestions on any bill or section of a law.
  • The ministry will assist in converting suggestions into legal language, even if linguistic difficulties exist.
