Insurance Authority Chairman Appointment Process Scrapped; New Process to Begin

The recommendation committee for the appointment of the Insurance Authority chairman has decided to scrap the entire application process. A new process will now be initiated to fill the vacant post. Previously, 14 individuals had applied for the position.

  • The application submission deadline was September 20.
  • The previous committee was formed under the coordination of Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission, Prof Dr Shivaraj Adhikari, with Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyay and Dr Khatiwada as members.
  • The current committee is led by Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission, Dr Gunakar Bhatta, with Ghanashyam Upadhyay as a member and Fatta Bahadur KC as an expert member.
  • Individuals who had applied include Ghanashyam Budhathoki, Bikrant Pandey, Paras Kafle, Bishnu Babu Mishra, Buddha Kaji Shrestha, Dr Damodar Basaula, Chintamani Shiwakoti, Dr Gyanendra Adhikari, Dev Kumar Dhakal, Prof Dr Deepak Bahadur Bhandari, Dr Rajendra Pandit, Yagya Prasad Neupane, Ramesh Kumar Bhattarai, and Maheshwor Neupane.
