169 Indian Pilgrims Arrive for Kailash Mansarovar Amidst Permit Delays

The pilgrimage season for Kailash Mansarovar has commenced with 169 Indian and international pilgrims arriving in Simkot within four days, facilitated by flights from Nepalgunj. According to Simkot Airport Chief Mahendra Singh, 147 of the arrivals were Indian nationals. However, some pilgrims were delayed in Simkot due to a lack of necessary permits, with authorities optimistic about continued tourist numbers.

A total of 169 pilgrims, including 147 Indians and 22 international passengers, arrived in Simkot between May 13 and the reporting date.
Despite challenging weather, 47 pilgrims reached Simkot on Saturday via three Summit Air flights, with 23 being held due to permit issues.
The Hilsa pass, a gateway to Kailash Mansarovar in China, has reopened following COVID-19 restrictions, with 6,500 Indian pilgrims having completed the journey last year.
The issuance of permits was delayed due to weekend public holidays, impacting the travel plans of some pilgrims.
