A 'Goth-stay' tourism service, offering accommodation and food in herdsman's huts, has been launched in Jaljala, Myagdi, to cater to tourists visiting the high-altitude destination. This initiative aims to provide convenience for visitors and additional income for local herdsmen farmers.

  • Jaljala, situated at 3,414 meters above sea level in Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-2, is a tourist spot on the trekking route to Dolpa and within the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve.
  • Permanent structures are prohibited in the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, leading to the innovative concept of utilizing herdsman's huts for tourist accommodation.
  • Guests are required to book their stay in advance, with arrangements made for groups exceeding twenty people.
  • The 'Goth-stay' offers local delicacies such as mushrooms, sprouts, dhakayo vegetables, dhiro, flour, cow's milk, yogurt, butter, and goat meat.
  • The service eliminates the need for tourists to carry tents or search for caves for overnight stays.
