The Supreme Court has ordered the release of former Minister Rajkumar Gupta, arrested for accepting a bribe, on a bail of Rs 5 million. The court's written order stated that Gupta should be released once the bail amount is secured. Gupta had been held in judicial custody after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority filed a case against him for allegedly accepting bribes to transfer Land Revenue Officials during his tenure as Minister of General Administration. Separately, the Supreme Court has requested a written response within 24 hours regarding the arrest of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai.
