Kathmandu to Host Global Gathering of Pastoralist Women

Kathmandu is hosting the Global Gathering of Pastoralist Women from May 26 to 29, a significant event for the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists 2026. Organized primarily by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), the conference will convene women from 40 countries to support their initiatives, strengthen networks, and amplify their voices in global discussions. The gathering aims to ensure pastoralist women's perspectives are included in decisions affecting them and will celebrate their contributions, knowledge, and cultures, while also working towards a shared policy agenda based on the 'Mera Declaration'.
