The National Human Rights Commission has held former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, and former ministers Ramesh Lekhak and Prithvi Subba Gurung accountable for human rights violations during the 'Genji' movement. The commission submitted a 7-point suggestion to the government, recommending punishment for those found guilty, including imprisonment or fines, and barring them from political appointments or elections for at least five years. It also proposed barring violators from administrative responsibilities and foreign travel for three years, and suggested automatic suspension of public officials upon case filing.
