Forests Play Significant Role in Nepal's Economy, Economic Survey Reveals

According to the economic survey of the fiscal year 2082/83, forests cover 46.08 percent of Nepal's land, an increase from the 1990s, making it the second country in South Asia with the most forest area after Bhutan. The state collected 1.89 billion rupees from the forest sector by the end of Falgun, with an additional 9.4 million US dollars earned from carbon trading. Employment equivalent to 1,915,318 workdays has been created through forestry and environment programs.
