A taskforce, coordinated by Asim Shah, political advisor to Prime Minister Balendra Shah, has begun consulting with political figures to gather suggestions for a discussion paper on constitution amendment. The consultations, held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, include leaders and experts from both ruling and opposition parties.

As of mid-April, 338 local levels across the country have successfully completed the classification of their land use plans. This initiative, overseen by the Ministry of Land, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs, and General Administration, aims to improve land use strategies and is crucial for agricultural protection, production, and urbanization.

Following an inspection of the Kulekhani Hydropower Project, Shrestha stated that these projects are vital for electricity generation, water management, flood control, irrigation, and tourism, especially in light of climate change impacts.

A significant rift has emerged within the CPN-UML, with a majority of leaders in the ongoing Central Secretariat meeting demanding the resignation of party Chairman KP Sharma Oli. A luggage tag system will be implemented on long-distance public transport vehicles departing from Kathmandu Valley starting May 29 to enhance passenger safety and manage belongings. The initiative, formalized through an agreement between the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office and the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs, aims to prevent luggage loss, theft, and swapping.
