The Koshi Tappu Reserve has attracted 11,603 visitors in the current fiscal year 2081-82 BS, including 11,214 domestic visitors and 87 from SAARC countries, along with 302 international visitors. The reserve, famous for its wild buffalo population and listed as a Wetland (Ramsar) site since 1987, serves as a habitat for various species and represents the unique forest characteristics of the eastern Tarai and Madhesh region.
