Government Reduces Federal Ministries to 18

The government has reduced the number of federal ministries to 18, including the Prime Minister's Office and Council of Ministers, as part of administrative reform and to enhance effectiveness. The Government of Nepal (Allocation of Business) Rules, 2083, approved by the Council of Ministers, outlines the new structure. Eight ministries have been merged, and the 'Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation' was created by separating the science and technology sector from the Ministry of Education.
