Nepal is moving towards using ethanol-blended petrol to reduce petroleum imports and support local industries. The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has invited applications from domestic producers capable of manufacturing ethanol that meets government standards. The government order allows up to 10% ethanol blending in petrol, with the final percentage to be determined by the Cabinet based on availability. This initiative aims to reduce fossil fuel dependency and lower emissions.
