Russian scientists have developed a vaccine against a new Ebola virus strain, which may also protect against the rare Bundibugyo strain. The World Health Organisation declared the Ebola outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. Temporary recommendations were issued to strengthen disease surveillance at Points of Entry.
