The World Health Organization chief warned that the conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo is complicating efforts to control an Ebola outbreak, urging an immediate ceasefire. The WHO has recorded 10 confirmed Ebola deaths and 220 suspected deaths since mid-May. The Bundibugyo strain of Ebola spreading in DRC has no approved vaccine or treatment, and stopping transmission depends on humanitarian access, which is hindered by insecurity and attacks on health facilities.
