Consumption of petroleum products, including petrol and diesel, has decreased by 10 percent and 9.9 percent respectively in the current fiscal year compared to the previous year, according to the Economic Survey 2082/83. This decline is attributed to the increasing consumption of electricity and the growing use of electric stoves in urban areas, which is reducing the demand for cooking gas. Electricity access has reached 99.1 percent of the population, though challenges remain in providing quality service in some areas. The country's total installed power capacity is 4,105 megawatts, with hydropower accounting for 3,798 megawatts, and 2,918 gigawatt hours of electricity have been exported to India this fiscal year.
