Photo · enewspolar.com

Nepal has seen a significant decrease in petroleum product consumption, with petrol dropping by 10 percent and diesel by 9.9 percent in the current fiscal year, according to the Economic Survey 2082/83. This decline is attributed to the increasing use of electricity, including electric stoves, and a subsequent reduction in petroleum imports. Electricity access has now reached nearly 99.1 percent of the population nationwide.

  • The consumption of cooking gas has also been gradually decreasing due to the increasing use of electric stoves in urban areas.
  • Nepal's total installed electricity generation capacity reached 4,105 megawatts as of mid-Falgun, with hydropower accounting for 3,798 megawatts.
  • During the current fiscal year, Nepal exported 2,918 gigawatt-hours of electricity to India.
  • While basic drinking water access is at 97 percent, safe drinking water access is limited to 29 percent of the population.
