Marsi rice has been planted at Chhumchaur Jyulo, recognized as the world's highest altitude paddy field, located at approximately 2,850 meters above sea level in Jumla district. Patarasi Rural Municipality and the Agriculture Office have resumed plantation activities, emphasizing the preservation of this high-demand, high-priced rice variety. Jumla produced 6,125 metric tonnes of rice this year, a 2.3% increase from the previous year, with efforts underway to expand Marsi rice cultivation due to its nutritional value and market appeal.
